Why and how did you get into the Toy and Game industry?

I barely had any toys when I was a child. Now, as an adult, I’m surrounded by toys and play everyday. Psychoanalyze that!

What trends do you see in toys or games that excite or worry you?

I am so excited that Fidgety play has gotten notoriety. Of course most everyone knows about spinners, cubes, and similar new and hot fidget toys, however, fidget toys have been around for a long time. We just didn’t have a name for it. I predict “Fidget Play” will be a common known Toy and Game category.

What was your favorite toy or game as a child?

I loved board games. I could play all day, every day. Hours felt like minutes. We had a thrift store close to our Queens, NYC apartment and my sister and I would buy most of our games for $2 with no missing pieces! My all time favorites included Clue, Monopoly, Trouble, and Sorry.

What do you read every day, and why?

I’m not going to pretend that I read anything that resembles a book of any kind. What I do read Facebook posts and what my friends, customers, and family are sharing. I love to stay in touch and see what is going on in their lives. I also like to use it to seek out trends. I love finding trends!

What is your favorite gadget, app or piece of software that helps you every day?

I still play Pokemon Go every day on my phone. I’m level 33 now.

When is the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it?

A friend shared on Facebook a link for a women’s swimsuit that made it look like a man’s body with chest hairs. I laughed out loud, showed my employees, and then send the image to my family with the caption “looking forward to our upcoming beach vacation!”. LOL!!!! I just laughed out loud again!

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

I give my kids Pokemon cards from my store so I can keep the code cards which I use to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game online. They just think I’m such an awesome mom for giving them so many card packs.

Do you prefer scary movies or happy endings?

Let’s say the Trolls movie is exactly my style. I’m totally into unabashed joy. Save the scary horrible stuff for real life.

What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

I’ve been to Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Thailand. That’s on the other side of the planet. If I went any further, I’d already be coming back. (I totally borrowed that line from The Truman show)
