What do you do in the industry?
I played with a bunch of toys when I was a kid, bought two or three gazillion when I became a dad, and now I have the honor of performing at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair. What are you working on now?
I am looking to launch some new spin off podcasts that will inspire families to cook and create and play more together.
What advice would you give a young adult graduating from high school or college today?
I would advice a high school grad to know that they do not need to take on an outrageous student loan to be successful and happy. Go online, go to a community college, commute. Colleges that cost $50K, $60, $70K and above are over rated, and the student loans SUCK.
What does your typical day look like?
Wake up, walk my dog, hit the gym, talk to fascinating authors, pay with magic
Where were you born?
Boston – City of Champions. Sorry Chicago, I couldn’t resist.
What do you read every day, and why?
I read kids books every day. As the host of the Reading With Your Kids Podcast, and as a Children’s author it is part of my job. But I also find lots of humor and wisdom in kid’s books.
Do you have any kiddos?
My beautiful wife and I have two amazing adult kids. We also have more than a dozen International kids who have lived with us while they studied in Boston. And I have a pretty amazing niece that I love to skate and play tennis with
Do you have any pets?
Yes. Auggie the Wonder Dog always has my back while I am recording my podcasts.
Do you play any musical instruments? If so, which one(s)?
Yes. I play drums, not as well as I did in high school and college.

I used to love scary movies, and books, and then I became a dad and I just could not find evil entertaining anymore.
Summer of Winter?
Now that I am approaching 100 Summer.
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
Panama. What a wonderful country. And the canal, what an amazing feat of engineering and cooperation
...that somehow I convinced my beautiful wife to have spent the last 30 years with me.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I haven’t decided yet.
