Welcome to Your Weekly News Brief!

Happy Bloomin' Friday!
Well, for a fleeting moment I thought I would have a big happy headline for the Bloom Report this week, but the winds of uncertainty are swirling still. Tariffs are still front and center. My mom used to tell me to take it one day at a time. It was sound advice years ago, and still is today.
Let’s keep sharing our stories through our networks and coming together to document and detail how tariffs impact every part of our industry. Our Senators and Congressional Reps should hear from us in every state and district. www.congress.gov/members. And don’t stop there—send your story to local news outlets, too. The more voices we amplify, the stronger our impact.
Wishing everyone at ASTRA Marketplace and Academy a GREAT Show next week!

Latest on Tariff News - This information was shared with TA Members yesterday and now with tBR readers....

Dear Toy Association Members:
We are providing this tariff update based on the latest information available. The situation is still unfolding.
-
Last night, the U.S. Court of International Trade (the Court) issued a decision ruling that President Trump’s tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (“IEEPA”) are unlawful and granting a permanent injunction against the tariffs.
-
The decision covers the April 2 worldwide reciprocal tariffs as well as tariffs against Mexico, Canada, and China pertaining to immigration and fentanyl. (It does not cover the Section 232 or 301 tariffs.)
-
President Trump’s team filed an immediate appeal last night and requested review by the U.S. Court of Appeals (Federal Circuit).
-
The Trump Administration has filed a motion for a stay of the Court’s judgment, and the stay has been granted. Enforcement of the permanent injunction is on a temporary pause until further notice, meaning that U.S. Customs can resume collecting IEEPA tariffs.
We are actively monitoring the litigation and will continue to provide updates, however, at this time, nothing has significantly changed.
Thank you,
Kathrin Belliveau

Person of the Week - Dan Klitsner is in Rolling Stone!

What’s the Most Nostalgic Song of the ’90s? You Might Be Surprised by the Answer...
Transcending mere audio experiences, Bop It might just be the 90s’ most nostalgic song. The famous Bop It! Pull It! Twist It! beat isn’t only catchy; it brings back fond memories, making people smile as they look back on their childhood years. According to Dan Klitsner, the phenomenon’s inventor, it is Bop It’s unique physical link to childhood and friendships that, in some ways, makes it the most nostalgic song of the decade. “Fans say it to me all the time,” he shares. “In fact, a well-known pop artist, part of a popular boy band, reached out to me on Instagram, asking if he could get his hands on an original Bop It. Playfully, I asked him to convince me why he should have one, and his answer said it all: ‘Because it brings back the best memories of me and my brothers hanging out together.’” READ MORE...
