PLAYCHIC FASHION SHOW

A New Day and Location Delivers the Same Haute Couture Fashion Looks Inspired by Toys & Games on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom.

CHICAGO (October 20, 2016) ―The PlayCHIC Fashion Show, the style-savvy jewel in the crown of Chicago Toy & Game Week since its debut five years ago, moves to a new day and location this year, bringing its flair for the fabulous to the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 8 p.m. This year, as always, the PlayCHIC runway will feature playful fashion designs inspired by some of the hottest toy brands of the 2016 holiday season, as the show transforms into a festive after-party for the Toy and Game Innovation Award Gala (TAGIE). The PlayCHIC Fashion Show, themed “Fashion After Dark is Always More Fun,” will include music by DJ Brent Rolland from Fig Media along with a red carpet and live event streaming hosted by the Herbert Brothers. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Tickets are $50 and are available now.

Each year the PlayCHIC fashion show gives noted high-fashion designers the opportunity to combine their creativity and playfulness with top toy and game brands that will be featured at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG) to create stunning runway looks. This year’s play-inspired fashion show will celebrate a classic party game Twister on the runway and will include looks created with Orbeez and PomPomWow. Fashion designer Laura Thapthimkuna is back for another year of playful designs, as Borris Powell, Lagi Nadeau, and Jermikko join the line-up for the first time. Also joining for the first time is Souk Supantavong, from Styled by Souk, who will be producing the 2016 PlayCHIC Fashion Show.
